Sir Thomas Mairlans built this for an intimate retreat with
his love, Lady Lavinia. Magnificent architecture and miles of
private beach has ensured this as still the most romantic location
ever. Secluded 12 Km from Colombo (Commercial capital of Sri

The original residence with its spacious rooms is now the Governor’s
Residence. Colonial architecture with its old world charm and

at the Mount Lavinia – not with the Curry Clipper with
its Sri Lankan and Indian dishes and western and eastern cuisine
at the 24 hour coffee shop, Governor’s Restaurant.
There are few to compete with the Mount Lavinia terrace. This
faces the sea and heart of Colombo and the harbor. This is the
